He's Pro-Adoption

Frequent caller to Mornings Rob Cross sent in an article that he posted on another website.

I am against abortion; my opinion of abortion is biased. I am not biased on the topic because I am a man, I am biased because I was adopted. My younger sister was an adopted child as well, and she is very pro-life. I know it had to a very difficult choice for our birth mothers to have made that decision to put us up for adoption. In their decison everybody benefited. My mother and Father were not able to have children the old fashioned way, so adoption provided them the joy and frustration every parent experiences. My sister and I really benefited the most, because we had parents that really wanted us, and the fact they were a little bit older we learned from their wealth of life experience growing up. Having well balanced parents that had life experiences aided my sister and I to excel in school, and to be successful in our careers. The parental model that mom and dad provided, has helped us greatly in raising our own children.

They say most adopted children have unresolved issues about being put up for adoption. My sister and I never felt the need to find our birth mothers. Our mom and dad always reinforced in us that our birth mothers made a selfless choice, to make sure we had a good chance in life.

In conclusion, to anybody reading this, who may be faced with the difficult choice of an abortion or adoption, I would encourage adoption. There are many couples out there that would love a child of their own. I have spoken to women who have had abortions, and the vast majoritory are very regretful and sorrowful for their choice. All I ask is that you consider adoption.
